Hi my loves! Today I have another foodie-find for you all. A while ago I visited this restaurant on a whim because I was on the lookout for a quick yummy lunch that I wouldn't have to travel very far for. While sorting through restaurants online (near me of course) I came across Saba. I saw that it was a small Italian restaurant that celebrates the art of homemade cuisine, so I thought it would be worth the shot. This was my first time visiting Saba and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
We started off with one of their "Small Plates" because we were absolutely famished on this day, so patience wasn't really a virtue at this point in time. I ordered the Italian Sausage Bruschetta for our table and it was exactly what I expected (we were off to a good start). The meat was flavourful, with the onions and red peppers elevating the overall flavour of the dish. The bread was also perfectly toasted, and seeing that I am a lover of almost all breads, this was absolutely satisfying (if I'm not mistaken, their ciabatta bread is freshly baked in the restaurant).
Then for the main course we tried their Bolognese (with Linguine pasta) and their Four Cheese Ravioli. To be quite honest, I didn't LOVE the Bolognese because the flavouring of the meat didn't really pack a punch in my opinion; I thought it to be a bit bland for my taste. However, the Ravioli dish was beyond exceptional! This must have been THE BEST ravioli I have ever had in my life. Now I do frequent Italian dining establishments because I have a true love for the food, so I can confidently say that I have had my fair share of ravioli dishes, but this one by far beats them all! I'm not sure what their secret is, but I don't particularly care so long as they keep making these divine dumplings. If you're ever in the area and you have a chance to visit Saba, just be sure to order one of their Ravioli dishes (or just go on and try all of them...). Because of the ravioli alone, I will be sure to give them another visit some time soon!
